Course Description

This course is designed for experienced technical professionals, engineers, and project managers who need to communicate complex ideas clearly and professionally in English. Over 20 days, you will develop the advanced communication skills required for technical discussions, presentations, written reports, and project-based work.

Classes use the Pearson Technical English 3 textbook and cover 12 units focused on sophisticated technical and professional topics. You will discuss complex systems, present technical concepts to different audiences, produce written reports and explanations, and apply your skills in project-based scenarios. This is the highest level of the Technical English pathway at ARX Institute.

Information About the Course

The course covers 12 units (5 hours each): Systems, Processes, Events, Careers, Safety, Planning, Reports, Projects, Design, Disasters, Materials, and Opportunities. Each unit develops your ability to communicate at a professional level about complex technical topics, with an emphasis on precision, clarity, and audience awareness.

  • You have completed Intermediate Technical English or have CEFR B1 level English (you can understand the main points of clear speech and text on familiar topics, and can describe experiences and give reasons for opinions) with professional technical experience
  • You need to discuss complex technical concepts, present findings, or write reports in English
  • You work in an engineering, project management, or senior technical role where English is essential for professional communication
  • You want to reach the highest level of the Technical English pathway for career advancement
  • Discuss complex technical concepts and systems with clarity and precision
  • Participate in and lead technical discussions and presentations
  • Produce written technical explanations, reports, and project documentation
