Foundation Technical English

A 20-day course introducing essential technical vocabulary and communication skills for technicians, trade professionals, and industrial staff.

Foundation Technical English Course

Course Description

This course is designed for technicians, trade professionals, industrial staff, and vocational learners who need English to do their jobs or studies effectively, particularly in regulated technical sectors such as aviation, oil and gas, construction, and utilities. Over 20 days, you will build the foundational technical vocabulary and communication skills needed to describe materials, follow instructions, discuss processes, and communicate safely in an English-speaking workplace.

Classes are practical and workplace-focused. You will work through 12 technical units using the Pearson Technical English 1 textbook, covering topics from tools and assembly to safety procedures and troubleshooting. Each unit combines vocabulary building with reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice in technical contexts. This is the entry level of the Technical English pathway at ARX Institute, a structured sequence of three courses (Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced) designed to build workplace English for technical and industrial professionals.
