Course Description

This course is for learners who are ready to communicate confidently in both academic and professional settings. Over 20 days, you will develop your fluency and accuracy using real-world English materials including articles, recordings, and workplace scenarios, and prepare for the Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET), an internationally recognised certification that demonstrates you can use English confidently in everyday work, study, and travel situations.

Classes use the Cambridge Open World Preliminary textbook and cover 14 thematic units plus a starter unit. You will work with real-world materials including articles, audio recordings, and professional scenarios. The course builds your ability to discuss ideas, write formal and informal texts, and respond clearly in professional and academic contexts. Classes are led by qualified, experienced instructors.

The course covers a starter unit plus 14 units exploring personal, professional, and academic themes. Each unit develops all four language skills using real-world materials and tasks designed to prepare you for the Cambridge PET exam format. This is the highest level in the English Language pathway at ARX Institute, providing a strong foundation for specialised courses such as Business English, IELTS, or Technical English.

  • You have completed the Pre-Intermediate English course or passed a placement test confirming intermediate-level English (contact us to arrange one)
  • You need confident English for professional meetings, presentations, or written communication
  • You want an internationally recognised certification (Cambridge PET, which proves you can communicate confidently in everyday work, study, and travel situations)
  • You are preparing to move into specialised English courses such as Business English, IELTS, or Technical English
